More Fake Caring About Families from Mark Kirk

Kirk's on the PR rampage again. He's gotten his name in all the papers today going against the virtual world called Second Life as an internet child predator. Kirk himself admited to the Tribune reporter that there are no known cases of children being targeted on that site, but what the heck, it makes for good press.

What Kirk will never talk about are families where both parents have to work 2 and 3 jobs just to keep a roof over the children, food in their stomachs and gas in the minivan so they can go to soccer practice. A discussion of the failures of the Bush economy for American families is off limits because those Kirk seeks to enrich, such as the oil companies and credit/finance companies that finance his campaigns and those of the rest of his party, are enriched thereunder. Families mean nothing to Kirk but cheap PR for his re-election campaign.

Proof? You have actual proof of this?

No conspiracy theories please. Just facts.

  • Ellen is completely right. This is yet another instance of Mark Kirk supporting education, being against crime, and for the environment. What COURAGEOUS political stances. What we continue to get from him is platitude after platitude. That's enough now for me. I don't need to see more of his silly headline grabbing while the real and DIFFICULT problems continue to worsen in our country and our area. I want our government reps in Springfield and Washington to finally do something about these problems. That is why this year I am doing something about it and volunteering to get good Democrats elected to give Dems in the House in Washington a big enough majority to overcome a Presidential veto, should that be necessary, and better yet, a Democratic President to avoid those vetos altogether.

  • Oops, vetoes.

  • So you Kirk supporters are looking for proof that Mark doesn't care about families? That is an easy one. Look at his record voting for legislation to help families/children. Sadly, his votes LOOK like (ya, that old PR thing) he is a "bipartisan" representative of this district, but we know better....when no one was supposedly looking, he always turns away from those that need him the most. SCHIP? How about the budget he supported? Compassion? Not this guy.

As a Jew, I am particularly sensitive to those that support him because of his support for Israel. HOWEVER, as a Jew, I also look for Tikkun Olam in his work. And it doesn't exist.

Mark Kirk doesn't care. He simply wants the trappings of power.

Let's bring POWER back to our families.

  • Atsaves doesn't know how to read so don't bother telling him to look at anything. 1:52 got it right Kirk's voting record on all the budgets that took money away from education, medicaid, veterans, seniors and fed the oil companies are the proof. It goes without repeating here because Ellen goes over the votes here all the time.

  • Here is one point where Mark Kirk is not in support of family friendly policy - The Iraq War.

He is supporting a policy that breaks up hundreds of thousands of American families. Of course, Kirk's votes have led to thousands of dead Americans and incalcuable social costs on this nation's military families.

I also have to wonder why Mark Kirk has not started his own family. He married very late in life and has no children.
