Mark Kirk, a diplomatic disaster

No matter what you think of the war between Israel and Palastinians in Gaza, you cannot discount that there are real people getting killed. There are images of dead and injured Palastinian children circulating all around the world. With all the blood being spilled and all the images in the media for the entire world to see, this is the public comment of our congressman Mark Kirk:
To misquote Shakespeare, something is rotten in Gaza and now it's time to take out the trash.

I'm not even going to get into that argument with you about whether or not the invasion was right. I don't think it is, but even if you do, you have to wonder about someone who wants to rise up in leadership in this country and makes that comment. What a diplomatic disaster.

We already know that Mark Kirk is perfectly willing to go on record saying that some people have less of a right, well, to be people. He told Mexicans that when he urged the distribution of condoms in Mexico. The message to our neighbor the the south is that they have less of a right to exist than anyone else.

One of the reasons we elected Barack Obama president was to rehabilitate our reputation in the world. I don't think Mark Kirk is the guy we can rely upon to help do that. We cannot hold him up as a world leader when he shows no regard whatsoever for the people of the world.
