- Told an audience of constituents that he was in a position to know about Iraq intelligence as a former Naval Intelligence Officer and with that special knowledge knew personally himself that there were WMD in Iraq.
- Claims to be pro-choice, but supports anti-choice candidates and ducks important close votes.
- Calls himself an environmentalist, but began his political career in the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a group created to spread the lie that there is no global warming.
- Believes in a fully de-regulated corporatocracy with no access to the courts for injured individuals.
- Claimed he prevented the bailout from paying for golden parachutes while the bailout pays for golden parachutes.
- Mark Kirk's China policy: What's a little melamine in exported food between friends.
- Believes the best thing for Israel is to arm it, and all its enemies, to the teeth and watch what happens.
- Believes education is nothing more than increasing law enforcement efforts in our high schools.
- Believes health care is tort reform.
- Claims to fight congressional pork, then campaigns on pork projects he claims to have brought to his district, mostly taking credit for others' work.
- Calls his own constituents "goons and thugs from Chicago". Hey Chicago! Do you want to vote for this guy?.
