Women are Incorporating. Men Should Too.
Cat Jarboe of Illinois Media Progressives made a point about women's health by incorporating her uterus. She made it a limited liability company, possibly for tax reasons.
This is a project of the Florida ACLU to tell the Florida legislature it needs to back off its intrusive legislation on women's health.
It seems to me that people should legally incorporate themselves and not just their body parts on a fictitious website as a creative protest. After the Citizens United case, it's clear that legal entities have more rights as people than do real people. They aren't wrangled into "free speech zones" or limited in their campaign contributions as are the rest of us. Can't beat the effective corporate tax rates, but consult your accountant to see what giveaways and subsidies you can apply.
There shouldn't be too many legal problems in incorporating oneself because corporations need not limit their purpose or length of existence anymore, and need not have more than one director or shareholder (at least in IL). You'll need a unique name, though, so all the Susan Jones and James Smiths out there might need a name change. Everyone will have to add Inc. or Ltd or something like that to the end of their name. Those under 18 years will have to wait until they reach the age of majority.
Just think what all the additional incorporation fees and franchise taxes will do for state budgets! Illinois will be made solvent and your kids will get an education after all.
Just a bit of advice: if you decide to sell shares in yourself, make then non-voting.
